After so many unforeseen things came to a head all at once, we made the decision to end Black Nile as y’all have known it to be for the past 6 years. The restaurant is now closed.
While we were planning to restructure the business in the near future, we did not expect to have to do so this soon and so abruptly.
However, y’all know us well enough to know that we take lemons and make lemonade, both figuratively and literally.
We have decided to move forward with making the business mobile, which has been a goal of ours for some time now.
Being a small business, young owners, and choosing not to partake in certain things that may have bought in more funds; taking the Black Nile & Black Castle brands on the rode from borough to borough and eventually state to state was something we made plans to do a while ago.
With real estate prices being as high as they are and food prices rising as well, we decided that our mission and goals couldn’t grow and evolve remaining stagnant in a Brick and Mortar forever.
While we expanded to the Flatbush location in hopes that it would serve as a flagship and anchor to our Mobile Business goals, we did not plan on having to give the location up completely.
But as we all know, life happens.
That being said, we have chosen to go back to what Black Nile (A River that Feeds the Soul) started out as and will continue to be moving forward.
A place filled with love, respect, and appreciation for the communities we love so deeply.
And that place will no longer be limited to one location. We are restructuring and pivoting so that we can continue to grow and be more available to the entire city without having to milk our community to do so.
Our Outreach efforts will continue with sooo many amazing ideas we have for the truck. And we’ll eventually be available for events, caterings, etc.
We will be back on DoorDash and UberEats very soon, but y’all can visit the "Food Truck" and "Order Ahead" pages of this website to pick up from the truck, meal prep for the week, and to see the menu we’ll be offering moving forward.
We are SO excited about this new chapter we’re entering and we hope y’all understand that it’s something that needed to be done in order for us to remain true to who we are and continue to provide great food and great service for years to come.
Be sure to Slide Thru & Taste the Difference
We love y’all, deep
